Jonathan Stevenson

Jonathan Stevenson is a former lawyer and journalist turned defence analyst and terrorism expert. He is currently professor of Strategic Studies in the Strategic Research Department of the Center for Naval Warfare Studies at the Naval War College.

Career

Stevenson joined the War College’s civilian faculty in 2005. From 1999–2005, he was Senior Fellow for Counter-terrorism and Editor of Strategic Survey at the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) in London. In 2004–05, he was also Director of Studies of the IISS–US in Washington. As a writer and journalist, he has lived in and covered conflicts in sub-Saharan Africa and Northern Ireland from 1992 to 1999. He practiced law for six years with the New York City law firm of LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene & MacRae.[1]
