Jo Cox was the Labour Party MP for Batley and Spen from May 2015 until 16 June 2016 when she died as the result of a brutal shooting attack in her West Yorkshire constituency.   Far right extremist Thomas Mair was found guilty of her murder in November 2016.
Ex-charity worker becomes an MP in 2015 general election
Cox had started her career as a political adviser to Labour MP Joan Walley and then Glenys Kinnock Labour MEP, before pursuing a career in the charitable sector working for Oxfam, Save the Children and the NSPCC.
