Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis is the Chief Rabbi of the United Kingdom. He is patron of Manna, a British charity that provides funds to Meir Panim, an Israel-based charity which provides aid to poor Israelis. As well as operating within Israel proper the charity also operates in the occupied West Bank. The organisation manages employment centres for Haredi Jews. These centers are known as 'Mafteach Centers' and are funded by the Israeli state and the Tevet Employment Initiative of the Jewish Joint Distribution Committee. There is one such center in the West Bank settlement Beitar Illit and plans to establish another in the settlement in Modi'in Illit.
