Funding in Israel
- 2018: charitable spending £62,377 (2017: £48,647) on the Journey of Understanding and IntraPal programmes, held in Cyprus and Jordan, and coordinators in Israel and Palestine.[2]
Israeli partners
The Encompass Palestine team led by Karen AbuZant, an Israeli coordinator, and alumni activities with Seeds of Peace and others; the chair and chief executive "visited Israel and the West Bank" in January 2019.[2]
Activity beyond the Green Line and support for the IDF
Findings are graded by confidence. "Partner" findings concern the Israeli recipient organisation, not proven use of UK funds.
| Finding | Confidence |
|---|---|
| The 2018 accounts describe work with Palestinians in the West Bank and Arab citizens of Israel through dialogue programmes held in Cyprus and Jordan; this is reconciliation work, not settlement activity.[2] | High |
Support for the IDF: No IDF or military funding is stated.[2]
Controversies and regulatory action
- No Charity Commission inquiry naming this charity was found; it is not named in the 2025–2026 cheque-cashing class-inquiry announcements or statement of results, and the charities in the August 2026 settlements class inquiry have not been named.[12][13][14][15][16] The register shows it as removed, giving the reason "Does not operate".[1]
- Contradictory programme statement. The 2018 report refers to the trustees' "decision in 2016 to make their staff redundant and to cease its international programmes" while describing Journeys of Understanding run in 2018, and gives the prior-year surplus as "(2016: £35,790)".[2]
