Department for Business and Regulatory Reform
The UK Government's Department for Business Enterprise and Regulatory Reform (BERR) was the "voice for business across Government" and the department responsible for nuclear energy policy between 2007 and 2009.
It was created in 2007, when a reorganisation of Government saw the Department for Trade and Industry dissolved.
In June 2009, another reorganisation saw the merger of BERR and the Department for Universities, Innovation and Skills, to create the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills. BERR's Office for Nuclear Development (OND) was responsible for nuclear energy policy. The OND is now part of the Department of Energy and Climate Change.
