British Friends of the Shenkar College
London charity, removed in 2020 after its funds were spent, that supported Shenkar College's fashion and textile education and ran an intern scheme; it granted £65,000 to the college in 2017/18
British Friends of the Shenkar College was registered on 24 August 1982 under rules dated 14 December 1970 (amended 10 December 2007), and was removed from the register on 21 November 2020 as "Funds spent (by trustees)".[1] Its objects were to contribute to the establishment, enlargement and maintenance of departments of Shenkar College and to grant scholarships "for education in fashion and textile technology"; the register lists the City of Westminster and Israel as its areas of operation.[1][2] In 2010 and 2012 the register listed its trustees as Barry Morris, Sir David Sieff, Brian Leslie Godbold, Arthur David Harverd and Paul Winter; in January 2018 it listed Paul Winter, Richard Schiffer and M Worth.[3] The archived accounts for the year to 5 April 2018 say "The Charity continued to support Shenkar College and operated a successful Intern Scheme": income was £99,514 (2017: £71,136), of which £79,200 was intern income and £20,000 donations, and charitable spending was £144,161, including grants to Shenkar College of £65,000, intern hotel costs of £28,788, intern pocket money of £12,865, visa costs of £18,888 and events of £4,168; the deficit was £44,647 and funds fell from £97,057 to £52,410.[4] The accounts give a principal address in London NW1 and were prepared by SPW (UK) LLP, London N3, with an accountants' report rather than an independent examination.[4] The last return, for the year to 5 April 2019 (income £48,342, spending £48,162), was received 281 days late, and the return for 2020 was not submitted.[1]

Activity beyond the Green Line and support for the IDF
Findings are graded by confidence. "Partner" findings concern the Israeli recipient organisation, not proven use of UK funds.

Controversies and regulatory action
- No Charity Commission inquiry naming this charity was found; it is not named in the 2025–2026 cheque-cashing class-inquiry announcements or statement of results, and the charities in the August 2026 settlements class inquiry have not been named.[18][19][20][21][22] The register shows it as removed, giving the reason "Funds spent (by trustees)".[1]
- Late and missing returns. The register shows the 2019 accounts received 281 days late and the 2020 return "Not submitted".[1]
- Inconsistent dates. The accountants' report in the 2018 accounts refers in one place to the "year ended 5 April 2016".[4]
