Department for Business and Regulatory Reform
The UK Government's Department for Business and Regulatory Reform is the "voice for business across Government" and the department responsible for nuclear energy policy.
A reorganisation of Government on 3 October 2008 saw the Department for Trade and Industry dissolved and the creation of two new departments: BERR and the Department for Energy and Climate Change. [1]
Lord Peter Mandelson is the Secretary of State for Business, Enterprise & Regulatory Reform, and Ed Miliband is the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change.
Under the changes, energy policy is supposed to have transferred from the DTI to DECC but currently (November 2008) seems to be still run by BERR.
BERR's Office for Nuclear Development is responsible for nuclear energy policy.
BERR uses two public relations companies: Gavin Anderson and Tulchan Communications. [2]
