Malki Foundation UK is a charitable incorporated organisation (foundation model) registered on 10 December 2015; its register contact address is c/o Green & Peter, London N20.[1][2] Its objects are to support families of children with special needs in Israel to care for them at home, through specialist equipment and paramedical therapeutic care, "in particular ... by providing support and assistance to the Malki Foundation" (PDF p.4).[3] The trustees named in the accounts for the year to 28 February 2025 include G D Hartnell (who signed the report), A Roth, D Toft, R Eisner, J Kalms and G Lipman, with L Kay, J Burchell and R Green having resigned; the register also lists Gabrielle Lazarus and Edwin Kalish (PDF p.3).[3][1] The UK foundation's website says it supports Keren Malki, "an Israeli charity focused since 2001 on the needs of Israeli families", established in Jerusalem in 2001 by Arnold Roth with his wife and a small circle of friends after their daughter Malki was killed in the Sbarro restaurant bombing on 9 August 2001.[4] In 2024/25 income was £67,139 and spending £64,958; "£10000 of Grants and Donations" were "sent to Israel for Home Therapies" (PDF p.5, 7).[3]

Funding in Israel

  • Year to 28 February 2025: "£10000 of Grants and Donations sent to Israel for Home Therapies" (2024: £15,000) (PDF p.5, 11).[3]

Israeli partners

Memorial plaque to the victims of the 2001 Sbarro restaurant bombing in Jerusalem (2019); Keren Malki, which the charity supports, was founded in memory of Malki Roth, killed in the attack

Keren Malki ("Malki Foundation in Israel"), whose UK website describes an equipment-lending unit run "in partnership with one of Israel's major rehabilitation hospitals", Therapists at Home, and Therapists On Wheels for "Israel's peripheral communities".[4][3]

Activity beyond the Green Line and support for the IDF

Findings are graded by confidence. "Partner" findings concern the Israeli recipient organisation, not proven use of UK funds.

Evidence of activity beyond the 1949 armistice line
Finding Confidence
The UK website says Keren Malki was established in Jerusalem; it does not give the locations of the families it serves.[4] Medium (partner)

Support for the IDF: No IDF or military funding is stated.[3]

Controversies and regulatory action

  • No Charity Commission inquiry, Official Warning or Gazette insolvency notice naming this charity was found, and its register entry shows no regulatory alert;[10] it is not among the charities named in the Commission's cheque-cashing class-inquiry announcements (May, September and December 2025) or in the September 2026 statement of results.[11][12][13][14] The charities in the Commission's settlements class inquiry (opened August 2026) have not been named, so it is not known whether this charity is among them.[15]
  • Related-party contradiction. The trustees' report says "In the current year no such related party transactions were reported", while note 18 says "£10,000 was donated to Malki Foundation in Israel, a charity with common Trustees" (PDF p.4, 14).[3]
  • Costs and errors. Grants of £10,000 compare with support costs of £33,083 and fundraising costs of £21,876 (2024: £3,462); staff costs (£25,563) and pension costs (£563) are identical to 2024; the balance sheet is headed "as at 29 February 2025", a date that did not exist, and was approved on 24 November 2025, before the trustees' report of 4 December 2025; 2024 charitable spending is £58,676 on the face of the accounts and £58,696 in the notes; note 1 calls the CIO "unincorporated" (PDF p.4, 7–13).[3]
