Ben-Gurion University Foundation is a non-profit organisation headquartered in London, affiliated with the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in South Israel.

The university

Ben-Gurion University of the Negev is a university in Be’er Sheva, South Israel. It’s named after David Ben-Gurion, the first Prime Minister of Israel, who believed the that the future of the country lay in this region. Set up in 1969 by the Government of Israel, the university has approximately 20,000 students in five faculties and is comprised of six institutes: Ben-Gurion Research Institute for the Study of Israel and Zionism, Jacob Blaustein Institutes for Desert Research, Heksherim – Research Institute for Jewish and Israeli Literature and Culture, Ilse Katz Institute for Nanoscale Science and Technology, The Homeland Security Research Institute, The National Institute for Biotechnology in the Negev and Kreitman School of Advance Graduate Studies.[1][2]


The Foundation

According to the Foundation’s website it was founded in 1974, five years after the university was formed, its aim is to ‘raise funds and awareness for the University across the UK’.[3] It’s business account show the firm was registered as a charity in July 1978, with a registration number of 276203.[4]
