Chris Leslie
Chris Leslie has been the Labour Party member of Parliament (MP) for Nottingham East since 2010 and was the MP for Shipley from 1997 to 2005. After the 2015 general election he was announced he would be replacing Ed Balls as the shadow chancellor of the exchequer.

Leslie has held the position of parliamentary secretary to the Cabinet Office (2001-2002), parliamentary under-secretary to the office of the deputy Prime Minister (2002-2003), parliamentary under-secretary to the Department for Constitutional Affairs (2003-2005), shadow minister to the Treasury (2010-2013), shadow chief secretary to the Treasury (2013-2015) and shadow chancellor to the exchequer (2015-).[1]
Spell away from parliament
From 2005 to 2010, after losing his seat, Leslie took up the post of director at think tank the New Local Government Network.[2]
Personal life
He is married to Nicola Murphy, a former special adviser to Gordon Brown.[3]
