Giles Wilkes

Giles Wilkes is a former special adviser to Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills Vincent Cable.[1]
He is now the author of his own blog http://freethinkecon.wordpress.com/. [2]
Background
After graduating from Oxford in politics, philosophy and economics, Wilkes spent a brief period in publishing before ten years working in various roles at IG Group. He has an MBA from the London Business School and in 2006 acquired a Masters in Global History from the London School of Economics.[3]
Wilkes is on the advisory board of the Economic Policy Centre.[4]
Prior to his position in Vince Cable's office, Wilkes was Chief Economist at the self-described "liberal" think-tank CentreForum.[5]
On the 25th May 2010, Wilkes posted to his blog: "This is the last post on this blog until further notice. I have unexpectedly been offered an advisory position to the new government".[6]
