David Wright (Barclays)

Sir David Wright is the vice-chairman of Barclays.[1]
Wright earned a degree in History from Peterhouse College, Cambridge.[1]
Wright joined the the Diplomatic Service in 1966.[2] During his career, he worked as Private Secretary to the UK's Cabinet Secretary and also as Private Secretary to HRH The Prince of Wales.[3] He held the positions of British Ambassador in Korea (1990-1994) and Japan (1996-1999). He was Chief Executive of British Trade International (BTI) from 1999 to 2002.[2]
Wright was appointed vice chairman of Barclays Capital in June 2003. He became vice chairman of Barclays in January 2011.[3]
