Salisbury Review
The Salisbury Review is a conservative magazine, which has described itself as 'articulate, discriminating, reactionary, right-wing, judgemental, elitist.' [1] It was founded in 1982 by the Salisbury Group, which was informally chaired by the Robert Gascoyne-Cecil, 6th Marquess of Salisbury. Roger Scruton was editor for the first 18 years. [2] In April 2010, the magazine's homepage read:
Since it was launched in 1982, The Salisbury Review has made uncomfortable reading for the left. Not least because its articles are often outspoken and written without regard for fashionable intellectual assumptions. In its pages you will encounter the rich variety of conservative thought, undiluted by liberal cant, progress philistinism or the politics of political correctness. [3]
