Itis Holdings
Itis Holdings produces road pricing technology and has contracts with Transport for London and 'several local authorities'[1]. It is described as a 'vehicle tracking and traffic data business'[2]. In 2007 the company is reported to have a market value of almost £60m and to be 'focused on traffic data collection'[3]. It's annual sales for 2007 were £18.8m with reported profits of £3.9m[4].

Projects
In 2006, Itis reports the trial of its latest innovation, CFVD, with 'a leading mobile operator'. It is stated that 'CFVD measures and forecasts real-time traffic flow by sampling the positions of mobile phones'[5]. This unnamed operator is reported as funding:
- 'a project using our CFVD technology to demonstrate how anonymous signalling data from its network can generate high quality information on road traffic and general mobility within a large metropolitan area in Europe. The results of this study will be presented to both public and private sector organisations and may lead to other deployments in countries where this operator has a strong presence'[6].
It appears that this innovation is known as 'Networks' which was reported in 2005 as a service which was developed in Israel and being deployed in Europe and the United States. Through the use of satelites, ITIS is able to track vehicles, stating that it 'provides traffic flow information to help drivers avoid congested routes' along with the operation of a 'stolen vehicle tracking service'[7]. So the service can be useful for tracking a stolen car and avoiding congestion, but it seems clear that the technology could also be used to track individuals for a number of alternative reasons. It would be interesting to see in what other ways this technology is likely to be deployed in the near of distant future (or even in the present).
Subsidiaries
Itis is the owner of 'satellite tracking company' NavTrak[8].
