Salma Shah
Salma Shah was appointed as a special adviser to Sajid Javid Minister for the Department for Culture, Media & Sport in May 2014. [1] Shah replaced Jo Hindley, media adviser to the former culture secretary Maria Miller. [1]
Background
With a strong background in the communications industry, Shah was an obvious candidate for the role as special adviser. Shah previously worked as a broadcast journalist for the BBC from October 2012 until May 2014. Before this, she managed communications for Business in the Community's Olympic legacy project, for the Freelance PR arc programme. [1] In 2012 Shah was also a researcher for Zeppotron (EndemolUK) and in 2010 was a researcher for Princess productions. Shah first ventured into politics as press officer for the Conservative Party in 2009. [1]
