Vincent Oratore is President of the Chartered Institute of Taxation (CIOT), a partner at Big 4 accountancy firm Ernst & Young and a member of the goverment's Tax Professionals Forum.
Career
According to his CIOT biog:
- Vincent Oratore started his career in the tax department of Linklaters and Paines (now Linklaters) qualifying in 1986 and specialising in financial instruments and M&A. In 1993 he became a Board director of J. Henry Schroder Wagg (now Citibank) focussing on tax enhanced capital market transactions for Schroder's clients. In 1997 he became a Managing Director at Merrill Lynch (now Bank of America) where he worked on the full range of Debt and Equity transactions including Hybrid Capital. In 2002 he became a Managing Director at Banque AIG, a subsidiary of AIG (now a subsidiary of the Federal Reserve) where he did a series of cross border structured finance transactions. Vincent is currently a partner at Ernst & Young LLP. He has authored or co-authored books on corporation tax and the taxation of financial instruments.
