Marcus Redwood is a Kent doorman who says he founded Marc-One Security in 1990, taking the name from Marcus. The firm’s site repeats that date and that founder. In 2026 he published Big Guy: The True Story of Britain’s Most Notorious Bouncer (ISBN 9781917439879).[1][2] He says he sold the firm about five years before an August 2026 interview to Gareth Brett. Companies House does not show Brett. The live company, Marc One Security Limited (12575629), has Charlene Williams (December 1983) as director from 28 April 2020.[3][4]
Nigel Farage
On the interview published as “The UK’s most feared doorman” he said the press had used photographs of him with shotguns after a Marc-One job at a Nigel Farage rally, and that he had not been there himself. His words, from about 1:21:19:
The press had done it twice to me. They did it later when my security company did some, we had some security for Nigel Farage. And again, it wasn't even me. It was my security company helped out for one of his rallies or whatever it was. And the next thing you know there's pictures of me with shotguns and it's like, craze minder looks after Nigel Farage.
He did not name the rally, the date, or the paper. No press cutting with that headline has been retrieved.[5]
Tommy Robinson
On a later interview he said he had helped in the VIP area at the last three events for Tommy Robinson, invited by Mark Bates, and that this was not a Marc-One Security contract because he had already sold the firm. From about 51:08:
I've actually got a couple of friends. I mean Dave's one of them and the other guy is Stuart from London who I met doing the security for Tommy Robinson.
Interviewer: “Oh for Tommy?”
Yeah I've done the last three, helped out with security in the VIP area for the last three and I met a great guy up there called Stuart who's been helping me out with the peptides as well. So between Stuart and David I mean I do feel like I've made some improvements.
From about 52:38, asked whether he had provided security for some of Robinson’s Unite the Kingdom rallies:
No, no, I didn't provide them because I don't have a security company. I sold it. I sold my company. It's still going. Marc-one security is now owned by a guy called Gareth Brett. Still a very successful company, but I don't have a security company but because of, probably because of my old reputation, I'm still friendly with loads of guys over the years that I've met. So there's a guy called Mark Bates who does do, he's good friends with Tommy and does a lot of his personal security. So he invited a few of us up, it was like a Grandad's team of security... But we was a very experienced team and we did a very good job. They're very happy with us. So yeah, it's great to be a part of that because I do believe, whatever anyone says about Tommy, his intentions are really good and we need to bring awareness to what's going on in our country.
The three events are not dated in the interview. Mark Bates and Stuart are not otherwise identified on these recordings. The sale to Gareth Brett remains his account. The register shows Charlene Williams, not Brett.[6][4]
What he says about the firm
On TheContentCAST he said the company took off when he was about 28, after a divorce, the loss of a gym, and a spell in a bedsit. He had been a tree surgeon and a bodybuilder, and had already done about ten years on the door. He started with six out-of-work doormen, and has said the firm once had about 200 staff.[3][7]
Licences
On the Dodge Woodall podcast he said he had been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, that his Security Industry Authority licence was withdrawn for four months, and that his shotgun licence was withdrawn for a year and a half. A court record has not been retrieved.[7]
