Conrad Heron worked at MI5 in 1974, and probably much longer.
His name is mentioned in an internal document of the Information Research Department (IRD), a secret anti-communist progaganda unit within the Foreign Office.[1]
"Mr. Conrad Heron's group at the Security Service" worked with the IRD in 1974, to feed material to Woodrow Wyatt when he was making the documentary Red Under The Bed for ITV.[2] [3] This suggests that Heron was working on industrial disputes, unions and/or groups associated with communists.
The IRD document mentioned the group 'met fortnightly over the past year' (1973).
