The All-Party Parliamentary Group on Financial Technology (APPGFT) was formed to:
- raise awareness in Parliament of the growing importance of Fin Tech (Financial Technology) to the UK economy, to policy-making and consumers; to promote a regulatory framework that encourages a growing, inclusive and competitive FinTech Industry; to investigate the potential applications of FinTech including peer-to-peer lending, crowdfunding, digital currencies, internet banking. [1]
The APPGFT is the first all-party parliamentary group of its kind, and was set up after the 2015 general election.
