Social Justice Scotland (SJS), was a short-lived Conservative Party linked think tank created in August 2009 and closed down in December 2009-January 2010. By mid-February 2010 it was in the process of relaunching as the Social Justice Foundation.
SJS called itself:
- a progressive think tank founded to develop and promote fresh thinking and effective new approaches to tackling poverty and inequality in Scotland.[1]
It also stated that it was:
- an independent, non-partisan organisation inspired by Iain Duncan Smith's work on social justice issues.[2]

Company background
SJS began when a private limited company called the Centre for Social Justice Scotland Limited was incorporated on 2 July 2009 with Glasgow-based Heather MacLeod as a director.[3][4] The name was changed to Social Justice Scotland on 13 August 2009.[5] On 31 August 2009 the company appointed a company secretary, the Gloucestershire-based finance director Anthony Nares.[6]
SJS began operation in August 2009.[7] Between August 2009 and January 2010 a number of directors were appointed and then had their appointments terminated. Fiona Houston (appointed 31 August 2009[8], terminated, 15 December 2009[9]); Malcolm Offord, (appointed 31 August 2009[10], terminated, 13 December 2009[11]); Malcolm Scott, (appointed 31 August 2009[12], terminated 4 January 2010[13]).
SJS came to an end on 22 January 2010 when its name was changed to Rellandum Limited in a form signed by Anthony Nares, the company secretary, one of two remaining directors.[14]
As at 5 February 2010, Social Justice Scotland has been dissolved.[15] The website has been closed down for maintenance, and the domain name is parked. The outfit has been rebranded as the Social Justice Foundation. On 3 February 2010 Heather MacLeod was appointed a director of the Social Justice Foundation.[16]
