The Social Justice Foundation calls itself "non-partisan, independent research organisation based in Scotland".[1] It says it is

a leading centre for research on issues affecting the confidence and well-being of our society. We conduct research that can help inform the development and implementation of a wide range of policies and influence existing legislation.[2]

It describes its core values as follows:[3]

  • The Social Justice Foundation is focussed on the most deprived 20% of society
  • Social Justice means helping others to help themselves
  • Poverty is more than an absence of money
  • For most people, work is the most sustainable route out of poverty
  • Stable, healthy families are at the heart of strong societies
  • The Social Justice Foundation believes in promoting a welfare society, not a welfare state.
