Dr Alan Lawrence Mendoza (born 2 August 1978) is a co-founder and executive director of the Henry Jackson Society. He is also a former Conservative Party councillor in the London Borough of Brent.[1] In January 2015 he announced he would run as a Conservative Party candidate for Brent at the UK general election 2015. [2]

Education
Mendoza obtained a B.A. (Hons.) and M.Phil in history at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge, and completed a Ph.D. at the same institution focusing on Anglo-American relations during the Bosnian War, 1992-1995.[3]
In his 2001 book on Bosnia, Unfinest Hour Brendan Simms credited Mendoza with sharing his expertise on American politics and transcripts of interviews with key figures in London and Washington.[4]
Career
Mendoza ran a contract publishing company for 10 years which specialised in producing publications for international organisations.[5]
Mendoza became co-president in 2000 of the Disraelian Union, which he describes as 'a political networking salon'.[6]
In February 2006, he was appointed executive director of the Henry Jackson Society.[6]
In April 2009, he became director of Worldview Strategy Ltd.[6]
