[[Gavin Hewitt]] CMG has been Chief Executive of the [[Scotch Whisky Association]] since October 2003 he is also a Board Member of Scotland’s [[Futures Forum]] Alcohol and Drugs Project. Before this Hewitt served as Her Majesty’s Ambassador to Belgium (2001 – 2003),Finland (1997 – 2000) and Croatia (1994 – 1997). His early career was with the [[Diplomatic Service]] where he became part of the British Negotiating Team in Brussels for the UK’s accession to the European Communities.
