In the latter part of 2006, Meda announced completion its acquisition of the pharmaceutical division of 3M in Europe. [1]
At the same time, 3M announced that it had agreed to sell its pharmaceutical operations in the United States, Canada, and Latin America region to Graceway Pharmaceuticals Inc. at a cost of $875million. 3M's pharmaceutical operations in the Asia Pacific region (including Australia and South Africa) were also sold to Ironbridge Capital and Archer Capital.
