Laura Trott is a lobbyist at Portland PR.
Until July 2016 she was a political adviser to the Prime Minister Theresa May in No.10. Prior to that she was a political adviser to David Cameron on women, education and childcare, one of just three women in a 26-strong newly reshaped Downing Street operation. [1]
She has previously held the role of chief of staff to minister for the Cabinet Office and paymaster general Francis Maude.[2]
As a special adviser to Mr Cameron, Trott earned a salary of £67,000 annually. [3]
Background
In addition to her role as special adviser, Trott is a Conservative councillor in the Frognal and Fitzjohns ward of Camden Council, London.[4] In the May 2010 election, she came second with 2490 votes (17.62% of votes cast).[5] Being "ushered into the Conservatives’ safest ward", Trott is reportedly "highly regarded".[6]
Trott was also a political adviser to the Conservative Party, as part of the Party's Implementation Team. Previous to this, she worked at Booz & Company as a strategy consultant. [7]
Education
Gained a Bachelor's degree in History and Economics from Oxford University
