Sir Andrew Stunell was the Liberal Democrats MP for Hazel Grove from 1997 to 2015.[1]
Stunell announced he would be retiring at 2015 general election so would not stand.[2] He was replaced by Lisa Smart who lost the seat to the Conservative Party's William Wragg.[3]
Parliamentary career
Stunell held the following posts:
- Shadow Spokesperson (Environment, Food and Rural Affairs) 1997-05,
- Shadow Chief Whip (Commons) 2001-06
- Shadow Secretary of State (Office of the Deputy Prime Minister) 2006-06,
- Shadow Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government 2006-07[1]
Most recently he served as the parliamentary under-secretary of State at the Department for Communities and Local Government from 2010 to 2012.
