The UK Oil and Gas Authority (OGA) is a new 'arm’s length body' headquartered in Aberdeen.

It was formally established as a UK government executive agency of the Department of Energy and Climate Change in April 2015.[1]

The May 2015 energy bill transfers the secretary of state for energy and climate change’s existing regulatory powers to the OGA, with the exception of those functions relating to the environment.
