Mitchells and Butlers are the UK based company who operate large chains of pubs, and restaurants. With a £2 billion annual turnover and 1,600 outlets they are by far the largest pub operator it the UK. [1] Joe Lewis a billionaire currency trader is the biggest shareholder in Mitchells and Butlers. Horse racing tycoons John Magnier and JP McManus are also shareholders through Elpida their investment vehicle. [2]
