The Scottish Advisory Task Force on the New Deal was first appointed in July 1997. The appointments are made by ministers in the Scottish Executive, however the chairman is also a member ex officio of the UK Task Force, and is appointed with the agreement of the relevant Whitehall Minister. [1] The Scottish Task Force is appointed by Scottish Executive Ministers. . It's role is to advise Scottish Ministers on policy issues in relation to the New Deal and to promote the scheme to employers and encourage their commitment. They also monitor the progress of implementation and look at the coherence of the framework of New Deal and welfare to work initiatives in Scotland.
