Paul Stein is the chief scientific officer of Rolls-Royce Plc.
He has formerly worked for Roke Manor Research and the UK Ministry of Defence.
Career
In his early career, Stein held engineering roles with Philips, Thorn-EMI and Thales.[1]
Between 1996 and 2006 Stein was the managing director of technology consultancy Roke Manor Research, the company behind the HawkEye technology in cricket and tennis.[2]
He was then appointed director general science and technology at the UK Ministry of Defence until 2009.[3]
He was then appointed chief scientific officer of Rolls-Royce Plc[3] where is responsible for augmenting the group's strong technology base, anticipate new scientific developments and help the group apply them to the next generation of products and services.[4]
