Ian Parker is the current senior communications adviser to the office of the leader of the opposition, and the opposition chief whip in the House of Lords.
He previously worked as senior political adviser to John Healey, the shadow health secretary and former minister at the Department for Communities and Local Government from 2007 to 2010. [1]

Previously, Parker worked for lobbying and communications firm FTI Consulting from 2006 to 2009. [2] Parker also worked as head of strategic communications at New Local Government Network a UK think tank from 2001 until 2006. [3]
Parker also has a background in research; in his early career he was a parliamentary researcher to Peter Kilfoyle, a Labour Party politician who was the member of parliament for Liverpool Walton from 1991 to 2010. He also worked as a research analyst for the National Centre for Social Research. [1]
