Young Enterprise Scotland is based inside Strathclyde University in Glasgow. According to the Royal Bank of Scotland who set up Young Enterprise Scotland as part of their Corporate Responsibility work:
- Young Enterprise Scotland provides young people (from 15 to 17) at school in Scotland, with a real life insight into work and enterprise. We are sole sponsor of Young Enterprise Scotland's 17 regional award events and the national awards ceremony.
- Students create their own limited companies.
- The Royal Bank of Scotland provides them with free banking services and support towards the core operating costs. Each Young Enterprise company has a Business Advisor, a volunteer from the business world who acts as their own personal consultant or non-executive Director.
- The experience gained includes raising capital to establish the business, developing a business plan and managing a company.
- Staff can get involved with Young Enterprise Scotland by mentoring young people and providing business and financial advice.[1]
