Gabriel Schoenfeld is a hardline neoconservative commentator and a strong proponent of state secrecy who has called for the prosecution of New York Times editors and journalists under espionage statutes for reporting on the story about the NSA's domestic surveillance program.[1] In June of that year he testified before Congress on the responsibilities of the press in wartime.[2] Schoenfeld has also denounced critics of Israel and its lobby as anti-Semites.[3]
