Newton Becker was a pro-Israel philanthropist. His Newton and Rochelle Becker Foundation was identified by the Center for American Progress in its report Fear Inc as one of the top donors to anti-Muslim causes in the US, giving US$1.1 million to Islamophobic groups from 2001-2009.
