Marc Bolland is the chief executive of Marks & Spencer.
Career
In 1987 Bolland began his career at Heineken NV in the Netherlands in marketing and sales management roles. In 1995 he was appointed managing director for Heineken in Slovakia, managing director for Heineken Export Worldwide in 1999, appointed to the board of Heineken NV in 2001 and appointed CEO in 2005.
He has also held non-executive director roles at Hotel de l'Europe in the Netherlands and Argentina and Manpower Inc US
Bolland joined supermarket Morrisons in September 2006 as CEO.[1]
He was appointed chief executive of Marks & Spencer in 2010.[2]
Helping British businesses
In June 2013 Bolland was announced by David Cameron as one of six business leaders on the Business-led taskforce on EU regulation who will identify the European rules and regulations that need abolition or reform to help British Businesses grow. The other five leaders were: Ian Cheshire (CEO Kingfisher), Paul Walsh (chairman Compass Group and former CEO of Diageo), Dale Murray (non-executive director BIS), Glenn Cooper (president ATG Access) and Louise Makin (CEO BTG).[3][1] The group reported in September 2013 and reported back one year on in November 2014.
