Stop Islamization of America, also called the American Freedom Defense Initiative, is an American anti-Islam[1] organization. It is led by Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer, and was founded in 2010 at the request of Anders Gravers, the leader of Stop Islamisation of Europe, of which it is the American affiliate. It gained attention from its vocal opposition to the construction of Park51.[1]
It is labeled as a hate group by the Anti-Defamation League[2] and the Southern Poverty Law Center.[3]
