Leket UK is an England-and-Wales registered charity (no. 1126755). The Charity Commission objects are: “To raise funds for Leket Israel, an Israeli charity which aims to relieve poverty by providing food and other basic supplies to persons in need.” Reporting is recorded as up to date.[1]
It is the British fundraising arm of Leket Israel (also styled לקט ישראל; formerly Table to Table), founded in 2003 by Joseph Gitler as a surplus-food rescue network. Leket Israel’s own 2025 report says it distributed about 33,939 tonnes of food through 346 partner non-profits to some 470,000 people in 121 towns, including cooked meals taken from catering and IDF bases.[2][3]
History
Registered in 2008. Leket Israel’s UK page states Leket UK has been a partner since that year.[4]
Settlements
The 2015 Powerbase stub recorded that Leket Israel’s then English “non-profit beneficiaries” page listed activity in the West Bank settlements of Dolev, Elkana and Ma'ale Adumim, with B'Tselem cited for settlement status. That Leket URL (leket.org.il/english/text/782.aspx) is no longer live; keep the claim as a 2015 site snapshot, not as a current beneficiary list.[5][6] Leket Israel’s later public reports list partner towns inside Israel (for example Netanya, Hadera, Ashkelon, Elad, Harish). Elad is not Elkana.[2]
Cooked-meal rescue from IDF bases is stated by Leket Israel itself.[2][7]

The July 2015 board on the old Powerbase page was Gitler, Bichunsky, Filer and Liz Lightstone. Lightstone is not on the current Commission card.[5][9] Leket’s UK page describes Filer as a founder trustee and finance director of a UK multinational, and Apfel as a corporate-affairs specialist.[4]
