Yaniv Vardi is an Israeli technology executive who has been chief executive of Claroty, an industrial and cyber-physical systems security company launched by Team8, since July 2020.[1][2]
Career
Claroty's leadership page says that before joining the company Vardi was global managing director of Centrica Business Solutions International and, before that, CEO of the energy-management company Panoramic Power, which Centrica acquired. Earlier he co-founded Sparta Systems EMEA and was its managing director. It says he graduated from the New Jersey Institute of Technology and "served in the Israeli Air Force for five years".[2] SecurityWeek reported that he replaced Thorsten Freitag as CEO.[3]
Vardi's reported military service was in the Air Force, not Unit 8200. Claroty's founders and early leadership, including chairman Nadav Zafrir, CTO Benny Porat and co-founder Amir Zilberstein, came from Israeli military intelligence and cyber units.[2][4]
