Suridata.ai (also known as Suridata) is an Israeli cyber-security company founded in 2019 by Lee Kappon (CEO) and Haviv Ohayon (CPO). It sells software-as-a-service (SaaS) security posture management, which monitors and assesses the security settings of the cloud applications an organisation uses. Ctech reported in May 2025 that Fortinet had acquired the company in a deal "estimated to be worth tens of millions of dollars".[1]

Founders and the Unit 8200 claim

The sources disagree about whether the founders served in Unit 8200. Ynetnews reported in May 2025 that Kappon and Ohayon were "both veterans of Israel’s elite Unit 8200 intelligence unit".[2] In a 2023 interview with The Jerusalem Post, however, Kappon said: "I did not serve in a cybersecurity unit in the army, and I did not work for a large cybersecurity company before establishing Suridata."[3]

Suridata is listed among the alumni of the 8200 EISP accelerator run by the 8200 Alumni Association, as "Suridata.ai (Acquired by Fortinet)".[4]
