Stewart Newton
Stewart Newton is the chairman of Veritas Investment Partners Ltd.
He has huge amounts of experience in investment banking and management having founded Newton Investment Management (now part of Mellon Bank) and worked as a non-executive director at HSBC Holdings Plc.
Career
Newton has worked as a portfolio manager and director at Ivory & Sime (1968-1977), Newton Investment Management (1977-2002), a non-executive director of HSBC Holdings Plc (2002-2008) an investment adviser at Wellcome Trust (2003-2013) and was on the investment board of Cambridge University (2006-2010).
He is currently the chairman and a director of Veritas Investment Partners Ltd and Veritas Asset Management LLP, council member of Imperial College and chairman of the committee advising the council on the Endowment Fund and a director of The Herald Investment Trust plc.[1][2]
