Robert Stearns is an American evangelical bishop who founded and leads Eagles' Wings, a US ministry that organises Christian support for Israel.[1] In 2025 Israel's Ministry of Foreign Affairs agreed to fund up to US$700,000 of a programme run by the ministry he heads.[2]
Career
Eagles' Wings says it was founded in the 1990s by Stearns and grew out of his "profound experience in Jerusalem".[3] His biography on the ministry's website describes him as its founder and president. It also calls him founder and co-chairman of the Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem, "a grassroots prayer movement now observed in over 175 nations". It says he meets with "global leaders … to offer support, counsel, and strategy". His books include Prepare the Way, Keepers of the Flame, The Cry of Mordecai and No We Can't.[1]
Israeli Foreign Ministry funding
The Foreign Ministry's tenders committee protocol 366/2025 of 2 September 2025 describes Eagles' Wings as a New York 501(c)(3) "headed by Bishop Robert Stearns". It approves up to US$700,000 towards a US$1,409,000 programme of events at US church conferences, a Capitol Hill advocacy event and a concert tour (translated from Hebrew).[2] The exemption notice spells the supplier "Eagls Wings".[4]
