Rebecca Hall is the Private Secretary to the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change at Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC).

Background

Hall was previously senior policy adviser on Electricity Market Reform at DECC, a senior policy adviser at the Office of Carbon Capture & Storage at DECC, and a policy advisor at the Office for Nuclear Development DECC.

Activities

Hall is currently responsible for the Nuclear, Oil and Gas, CCS and Resilience portfolios under the Secretary of State to identify urgent issues and prioritise information going to the Secretary of State. Her duties include:

  • analysing briefing 'when it arrives to ensure it contains all information that is relevant or has been specifically requested and requesting amendments when necessary
  • working with OGDs to ensure strong working relationships between Ministers and Departments
  • relationship manager between Private Office Group and Economic and Domestic Affairs Secretariat at Cabinet Office. [1]

Office for Nuclear Development

Hall worked at the OND between September 2008 and October 2009, where she was responsible for the implementation of the Nuclear Liabilities Financing Assurance Board, leading on recruitment and secretariat functions. She also coordinated the publication logistics of the Nuclear National Policy Statement and related documents, lead on the relationship with COI and other DECC teams and development of the Funded Decommissioning Programme Policy, collated briefing packs and contributed to policy analysis.
