Pilgrims Group (Pilgrims Group Limited, Companies House number 03531080) is a contractor to the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) under the Conflict, Stability and Security Fund (CSSF). Companies House records it as incorporated on 19 March 1998, status "Active", nature of business "80100 - Private security activities", with registered office at Pilgrims House The Links Business Park, Old Woking Road, Woking, Surrey, England, GU22 8BF.[1][2] It is a named supplier on Lot 1 of the CSSF Framework Agreement 2023–27.[3] FCO and FCDO payments to it over £25,000 recorded in published departmental spending data total about £1,193,281; these figures cover all FCO/FCDO (and, after September 2020, former Department for International Development) programmes and are not limited to the CSSF.[4]
CSSF and other UK government work
SecurityInformed.com reported that the FCO had employed Pilgrims Group, after "a process of fair and open tender", to deliver Security Awareness in Fragile Environments (SAFE) training over three years. The training, for staff posted to "politically unstable and often highly dangerous parts of the world", was held at Pilgrims' centre "set in 200 acres of Surrey countryside". Pilgrims' then chief operating officer, David Freear, was quoted.[5] Professional Security reported in 2013 that Pilgrims had a four-year contract with the International Executive Service Corps in Afghanistan. The contract included training and overseeing members of the Afghan Public Protection Force assigned to protect IESC staff.[6]
