Pechter Polls is a contractor to the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) under the Conflict, Stability and Security Fund (CSSF).
Overview
Pechter Polls of Princeton (P3) says it works with "trusted, local interlocutors to build networks of key influencers across areas of conflict and Great Power competition". It says it uses these networks to "gather perceptions, test/push out messaging, build/run platforms" and evaluate programmes. Its founder and chief executive, Adam M. Pechter, was previously policy director for a New Jersey gubernatorial campaign and chief operating officer of the New Jersey Commerce Commission.[1]
CSSF/ISF and other UK government work
Middle East Eye reported in 2020, citing leaked documents, that "Sarkha", a supposedly grassroots Alawite online movement in Syria, "was in fact devised by an American company, Pechter Polls of Princeton, New Jersey, working under contract to the British government". The contract was first managed by the Ministry of Defence's Military Strategic Effects unit and later by the CSSF. MEE said a July 2016 assessment conducted for the CSSF recorded Sarkha's CSSF budget for that year as £600,000.[2]
