Paul Stadlen is a British lobbyist who was head of APCO in Malaysia, and is now communications chief for the country's prime minister Najib Razak.

- Sholto Byrnes, a British journalist who is a senior fellow at the Malaysian government-funded Institute of Strategic and International Studies (ISIS), was reported to be working with Stadlen in his role as the PM's comms chief. Byrnes denies having ever worked for either Stadlen or the Malaysian PM.
