Nefesh B'Nefesh (NBN) is an organisation that promotes and assists immigration to Israel. It runs the "Nefesh B'Nefesh Lone Soldiers Program", which it says was set up "with the full support of the IDF, and in cooperation with the Friends of the IDF (FIDF)". The programme describes itself as "the address for every Lone Soldier in Israel before, during, and after their service in the IDF", and says its team includes "an employee who sits within the IDF".[1]
Link to IDF service
The Lone Soldiers Program supports immigrants who serve in the IDF.[1] The Israel Defense Forces treats as "lone soldiers" those serving without family support in Israel, for example soldiers whose parents live abroad, who are estranged from their parents or who are orphaned, and gives them extra rights such as a monthly stipend.[2] See Lone soldiers.
UK funding
Its UK charity was Friends of Nefesh B'Nefesh Limited (1136918), removed from the register in 2024. Its accounts describe aliyah promotion only and show no payment to the lone-soldier programme, so UK funding of that programme is not established.
