Joseph Montgomery

Joseph Montgomery worked in the Department for Communities and Local Government from 2007 to 2011 and is the former chief executive, Europe of the Urban Land Institute.
Career
Montgomery was the non executive director at the Department for Transport from 2004 to 2007, the president of the International Urban Development Association - INTA from 2006 to 2008 and the director general of regions and communities group at the Department for Communities and Local Government from 2007 to 2011. In this role he was the government's policy lead on the £9.6 billion regeneration of the Thames Gateway and lead on the delivery of the East London Legacy from the 2012 Olympic Games.[1]
He has also served on the boards of Middlesex University, Lewisham College and The Joseph Rowntree Foundation.
In March 2011, Montgomery was appointed chief executive, Europe at the Urban Land Institute, however he left in June 2014 to 'pursue other opportunities'.[2] His role with was approved by ACOBA subject to the condition that, for 12 months from his last day of service, he should not become personally involved in lobbying UK Government Ministers or Crown servants, including Special Advisers, on behalf of the Institute or its members".[3]
