John Williams is a former special adviser to the Cabinet Office, the Department for Work and Pensions, the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform and the Ministry of Defence.
He was then an independent consultant to Fujitsu Services Ltd, Equiniti Ltd and Odgers Berndtson, the owner of lobbying company Outcome First Ltd and is now the managing director of Bechtel Management Company Ltd.

Career
Williams was a director at New Local Government Network in 1998, worked in business development at Serco in 2002 and a director of public services at the Confederation of British Industry in 2003.[1]
In May 2005 Williams entered the government as a special adviser to the Cabinet Office, then to the Department for Work and Pensions in November 2005, the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform in June 2007 and finally the Ministry of Defence from October 2008 to June 2009.[1]
Revolving door
In November 2009 he took up roles as an independent consultant to Fujitsu Services Ltd, Equiniti Ltd and Odgers Berndtson. The roles were approved by ACOBA "subject to the condition that, for 12 months from his last day of service, he should not be personally involved in lobbying UK Government Ministers or Crown servants, including Special Advisers, on behalf of his new client".[2]
Between November 2009 and February 2012 he was the owner of lobbying company Outcome First Ltd.[1]
He is now the managing director of Bechtel Management Company Ltd, a role he has held since June 2014.[1]
