According to a Natsource press release:

In his last position there, he was the global risk manager of the commodity risk management group. He held several risk management positions at Chase, including senior analyst for the Asset/Liability Management Committee and risk manager for the U.S. dollar interest rate cap book. Mr. Cogen is a founding officer of the Energy Brokers Association and is a regular moderator and speaker at global conferences on the global carbon market. Previous International Emissions Trading Association chairman Daniel Gagnier said on Cogen's appointment;

Jack’s appointment reflects IETA’s continued commitment to promoting market based mechanisms to address climate change,” said Gagnier. “He is a recognized expert in carbon finance, and Natsource has been involved in the greenhouse-gas and other environmental markets since their inception. Jack will advocate IETA’s views well.[3]
