Israel Magen Trust UK (charity 1202788; company 14042174) is a British charitable company registered on 20 April 2023. Its objects are relief of sickness, by grants of medical supplies and equipment to Israel’s emergency response services, and humanitarian aid to victims of war or disaster. The chair is Joel Messod Silberstein. It is not Magen David Adom, not the Gaza-fence kibbutz of that name, and not the Israel Magen Fund which advertises tactical kit for soldiers.[1][2]

Objects

The memorandum states two objects:

1. To relieve sickness and to preserve and protect good health for the public benefit, through the provision of vital equipment and funds; in particular but not exclusively to support Israel’s emergency response services with much needed medical supplies and life-saving equipment; and
2. The relief and assistance of people in any part of the world who are the victims of war or natural disaster, trouble, or catastrophe in particular by the supply of humanitarian aid, medical supplies and training courses for first responders and international rescue units.[1]

The register classifies this as the advancement of health or saving of lives, by grants to organisations, operating in Israel. It is not recognised for Gift Aid. No policies are declared. There is no website on the register. Phone 07803 049316 and office@israelmagentrust.uk. The same number is printed for British Friends of Yeshivat Hakotel.[1][3]

What it is not

The name collides with three other things.

Magen David Adom is the Israeli ambulance and blood service, a member of the Red Cross and Red Crescent movement. Its British friends are a separate charity.

Kibbutz Magen is a community on the Gaza fence. Appeals for soldiers guarding that kibbutz, including the Westminster Synagogue text, are about the place, not this company.

The Israel Magen Fund (israelmagenfund.org) describes its work as security, medical equipment and “essential gear for soldiers,” and lists IDF clothing including bulletproof vests, ceramic helmets and tactical gear. That site does not name this charity number or these trustees.[2]

Money

The first filed year was the only one with any scale. Income then collapsed.

Year to 30 April Income Expenditure
2024 £95,350 £90,850
2025 £9,640 £11,210
2026 £588 £628

Accounts and a trustees’ annual report were required only for the 2024 year. Later returns were annual returns alone. No grant schedule is on the public register extract, so the 2024 spend cannot be tied from that extract to a named Israeli service.[1]

Trustees and directors

The company was incorporated on 12 April 2022. Silberstein was a person with significant control, with 75 per cent or more of the votes and the right to appoint directors, from 12 April 2022 until 17 November 2022, when the company filed that it had no registrable person.[4]
